Hendricks Chapel
Hendricks Chapel was completed in 1930 through a bequest from former Syracuse mayor Francis Hendricks in honor of his wife, Eliza. Designed by Pope and Baum with a dome and portico that trace back to Palladio and the Roman Pantheon, it opened as the third-largest university chapel in the country and remains the symbolic heart of the Syracuse University campus.
Today the Chapel is a multi-faith home to more than ten chaplaincies, seating 1,000 beneath its dome. Its calendar spans convocations, commencements, weekly religious services, Malmgren concerts, memorials, and performances of every kind.
As the Chapel's preferred AV partner, Sensational Events handles audio production and sound engineering for concerts and band performances, custom lighting that respects the historic interior, and hybrid event production, including livestreams of the Chapel's Baptist and Catholic services. We know the room's reverberant acoustics, and we work cleanly inside it.
