The Marriott Syracuse Downtown opened in 1924 as the Hotel Syracuse, the city's 'Grand Lady,' a 600-room landmark that hosted five U.S. presidents and celebrated John Lennon's 30th birthday. After decades of decline and a 2004 closure, a $57 million restoration returned the hotel to form in 2016.
Its event spaces are among the finest in Upstate New York: the tenth-floor Grand Ballroom with two-story windows, crystal chandeliers, and a hand-painted skyscape ceiling; the Persian Terrace; and the 8,000-square-foot Finger Lakes Ballroom. Galas, weddings, reunions, and multi-day conferences fill the calendar year-round.
Sensational Events produces across all of them, providing uplighting and full lighting production, custom podiums and PA systems, DJ and wedding services, and multi-camera capture for hybrid programs. We know the hotel's load-in routes and back-of-house rhythms, so production never disrupts the guest experience.
